Portable-making contest again?

Post by Zeturi » Sat May 23, 2009 9:02 pm

I remember last summer, when I started reading these forums, there was a contest going on for who could make the best portable. Will anything like that happen this summer? (Hopes to lure techknott out of hiding top finish his GCp)

I'd be up for one as soon as I get my other two current SNESp's done. I don't think I would be ready for a contest until maybe mid to late June. Anybody else interested, or should we hold off a while longer? What was the time frame of the last contest? I don't remember...

Edit: "The contest will commence on Sunday, July 20th. Ending on Sunday, August 31st."

^found it

Six weeks was kind of short for many folks. Why not a bit longer, like a full 2 months? Also, I'm not necessarily pushing for a contest right now if no one's interested, but it would be fun to iron out some details for when we do have our next contest. I'd be willing to offer up a prize or two.

I agree we need to iron out the details for the next comp. And a full 2 months would be great.

And talking about it ahead of time. May give people better time to get prepared (like me).

I think we should all build portable dreamcasts and unveil them all at once on 09-09-09

I'm in for the contest, maybe I'll actually get around to restarting YAP64. But I'm not in for the Dreamcast.

I really don't think we should limit it to one platform. If it's a video game console of any type that has been made portable with a screen, batteries, and on-board controls and was constructed in the contest's time period then it should be eligible.

What is everyone's opinion on how we totaled the points last time? Was it fair and easy to understand?
