Post by Snesboy » Tue Feb 22, 2005 9:39 pm

I have a 9.6v battery from an RC car. Can i use that to power my SNESp?
Plus i need to know how to connect the darn battery to my system (I'm new to portableizationizing consoles)

P.S if anyone has any tips on how to make a SNESp please tell me.

Yes, you'll need a power regulator to drop it to 5 volts, then you'll be set.

Here you go:

If you're not using a PSOne screen, you can ignore that part.

I was thinking about doing that w/ my RC battery too. I have a question, how do you recharge the RC battery if you screw w/ the connector at the end. ( I mean, the thing that you hook up to the charger). Also, how do you split the wire like that shown in the picture? ( or maybe the picture was decieving me...)

You don't need to split it. Just use multiple wires.

The SNES already has a 7805 onboard, so you can put the 9.6 right into the plug. I didn't see anyone mention that here...
Warranty-Voiding fun!

Yeah I was wondering the same thing, could you just have two wires going from the battery or what?
SNESp - 100%
Protable X - 15% - I need money :(

are u talking about charging the battey while inside the portable, or are u thinking the wires are connected directly to battery

no idea what is meant so i will do several cases

If u mean from inside the portable depending on the kind of charge u could hack it up and put a special connector on it and another one coming out from the battery so you would be able to charge the battery inside.

if it like the battery my brother has it flat with metal contacts some of them have a second set used for charging but my first idea would work if u soldered directly to the contacts

or if u can get a crappy Rc car that takes that battery there is probably a way to make it easy to remove battery for charging, get 2 play one while charging.
---------------

I can;t wait till i find a good gradge sale with some systems that work ill buy them and make them portable but right now im cheap and don;t feel like messing with my systems and buying the screens. lol but right now im in electronics at school and could get a lot of commponets for free but i graduate soon
Tech surpport is being to lazy to read a FAQ and having someone else do it for you over the phone.
