Aw, you have to sign in. :(

Someone will post deep links (and hopefully RC keys*) on a tech blog soon enough.

*Yes this is probably OK. Microsoft only gave out a couple different keys for the beta, anyway, and they said there's no limit this time.

I have an account, but I can't get much farther - too many people trying to download, perhaps?

Bic, if you can get a copy of Windows 7 RC 64-bit.

I got a key I'm saving just for you.

I ended up getting another key after I had a problem with getting the download to work with IE7 (64-bit). And had to switch over to Regular IE7 and copy and pasted the link I was on from the other version of IE7. And got the download started before it linked me back to the product key page.

OK, I'm getting somewhere now - just waiting for the e-mail. You two are forgiven.

Edit: Woo! We're cruisin' now!

Edit 2: Download complete.

I've been using it for over a week on My dell mini 9. Absolutley love it, even better than xp. Just seems quicker and looks a lot nicer.

Eh, signed up. Downloading now. Gonna start with the 32 bit version so I can try running a chopped-up vLite version of it on my old 600 mhz P3 laptop.

EDIT: DOH! I don't have enough free space on any of my hard drives to save the .iso! D:

I'd try it, but I really don't want to screw up my computer. Or have to reinstall everything that probably won't work anyway. How big is the ISO, because my interweb connection sucks.

2.3 gigs for the 32 bit, I think. I'm not at home to check.

What you should do is this: act as if you are going to download it so that you can get a valid unique product key (it displays as soon as it starts to download). Then, cancel the download and get one of the nice people on the forums here to burn you a DVD of the iso and mail it to you.

If you have a spare hard drive kicking around (at least 20 gigs), you should be able to swap that in.

Or, you can run it under a virtual machine with Virtual PC or some other tool.

EDIT: 200 MB to go! :D Then it's time to play The Waiting Game again, downloading the 64 bit version.

Drive space isn't a problem anymore; just got a 1 TB external Western Digital drive for $60 at Best Buy (after price-matching Wal-Mart and using some raffle prize gift cards, of course).

3 hours 30 minutes, I don't wanna wait that long!

Gives me time to backup and backup again and then make sure the backups backed up right.
