Hey, this is great. Now I don't have to scroll all the way down to find this thread. I wonder how much other stickey-worthy threads are burried among the forums.

Sorry if I missed a post somewhere, but why exactly would you remove the NES portion of the Duo? I think It'd be pretty awesome to have a portable that can play both.
what is this i don't even

I don't understand, though. The whole point of a Retro Duo is to be able to play both. The other cartslot could be relocated to the opposite end of the portable, I'd think.

Ever soldered 144 wires? It's pretty boring, and you can make a NOAC portable just as easily. And, the nes board takes up a little room, and it can't work alone. Plus it draws power. And you can make a smaller snes portable.

Is it possible to get composite video off the FC Twin directly from the SNES side without the second board? I imagine the answer is no, but I'm new with this. thanks!

No it isn't. However on the Retro Duo it is, since the video encoder is on the SNES board.

That's what I thought, but I figured it'd be better to ask and look dumb, than to not ask at all. thanks
