Re: First game console
The first I ever played was NES/SNES at my aunt's and grandma's, respectively. My parents used to rent an N64 and Goldeneye whenever they went out of town so we'd behave for the sitter. The first console we owned was an NES, which we got when N64 was big, and sold a few years later. Then we got a PS2 one winter when both brothers were laid up after surgery.
The first one I bought for myself was a PS2 when I moved out, since my parents used to give us games for Christmas. My first games were Enter the Matrix, LOTR: The Two Towers, and Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban.

The first video game console in my house was the NES, with Super Mario Bros./Duckhunt
The first console I bought myself was the Sega Genesis (v.2)/SegaCD. It came with Sonic 2 and Sewer Sharks.
I could swear though that the first video game console I ever used was an Atari 2600. Friends of ours had one hooked up at their cottage every summer and when we were there we'd play it, like Pitfall <3 (Yes I love Pitfall)

Re: First game console
My first console was the N64, and the first game I played on it was OoT. My favorite game on the system is Majora's Mask, though.

Re: First game console
My First Console was the Sega Genesis and my first handheld was the Gameboy Pocket. My favorite game for the Genesis was Sonic the Hedgehog and my favorite game for the pocket was tetris. All my friends were jealous because I was the only one who had one.

Re: First game console
The first console I had was the NES. We had lots of games for it but had to give it away (posted the story in another thread a few months ago).
I can't pin down a particular favorite but I love Zelda and Final Fantasy games.

Re: First game console
My first console was an N64, with Pokemon Stadium, but I grew up on my cousins NES and SNES. Played SMB and Excitebike for NES, and Clay Fighter, Mario Cart, and TMNT: Turtles in Time for SNES.

Re: First game console
my first console was the ps1. i wish i could change it, but i'm only fourteen. my second console was the n64, when i was 4, and i had begged my dad about this cool looking game system i had no idea what it was. my dad said it didn't work, but i got it working. the console?
the grand old nes, and the first game i played on it was the legend of zelda.
the games i played on the ps1 were:
all the resident evils, my favorite being nemesis. i had a the minigun and assult rifle infinite ammo
both oddworlds, my favorite being abe's exodus
all the tomb raiders
all the final fantasies
an extremely rare collectors edition of lunar(i think that's the name)
and my favorite being grantstream saga(sp?)
the n64
super mario 64
legend of zelda, bot of them
perfect dark
the nes?
zelda, both
all of the marios
dragon warrior, final fantasy(i never get tired of the appregios at the beginning) and just about every other role playing game on the nes.
duck hunt
utilitia(i forget the name exactly)
and back when gamestop was cool, they had this giant cart full of nes and snes(my fourth system, and my second favorite)
games each for about 5 dollars, but now they aren't, and they have this new system called "xbox 360", which scares me with its many polygons and unpixelated picture. they also have this "ps3" that's a hell of a lot heavier, but just as scary. the wii seems cool, as it was made by the greatest company in the world.
as for my atari 2600, which was a heavy sixer, it fried, leaving me depressed and empty inside for 10 years, until i first used ebay to get an atari for 30 dollars, and i felt whole again.
i only wished it didn't come with e.t.

Re: First game console
Though not my generation, my father's old atari 2600. After that the PSOne and then the SNES. Then the gamecube and then an N64. Oh, this is not counting game boys.
My chronology is a bit zig zag

Re: First game console
I myself was born and raised on a SNES.
Favorite games are:
1.) Donkey Kong Country
2.) Top Gear
3.) NFL Quarterback Club 96 (Yeah, back in those days all you had to do was blitz the DE on the left side for a sack almost every time. Ah the good old days before the whoring that is now called madden).
