Some Gameboy Advance Questions

Post by Amphibologism » Thu Apr 16, 2009 5:09 pm

1.) Would there be any way to adapt the GBA to have a USB cable so that one could plug it into a computer and use it as a controller for games?

2.) Is there any way to adapt the GBA to use the screen of a PS1?

1. Yes, if you get a cheap USB game controller from Wal-Mart and wire the GBA's buttons to the appropriate ports on its USB encoder.

2. Yes, if you can track down the video input cartridge some Chinese company made for it back in its heyday. (I don't think they make it anymore.) Something like this (not a vendor)

1 no, unless you just put a controller in the GBA shell.

2 yes, you need a gba TV adaptor. They occasionally pop up on ebay.

I was guessing I would get answers that were "dated" because of the device. It's just got such fun games. :D

Thanks for the help.

Theres some kinda cable sold on Amazon that lets you hook your GBA up to a tv but it runs about $35 i think. That could also be used to work with a psone screen.
copulate all you goddamn smartasses.

Link to it.

I know $50 is a lot but that's what the link was to it. Seems like a fairly good deal if you were to use it for say, portable building, just make it fit to every console.

Um guys, he wants to hook his GBA to a PSone screen. Meaning a GBA Transverter.

Fun fact: I actually saw one in Japan way back when. That was when pokemon sapphire was just coming out, so quite a while back. I should have bought one, the demo was really fun but I was only like 8 or something.

1. Yes, it will require a PC USB controller, a soldering iron and a little bit of work.

2. Yes, you need either of two adaptors that I can't remember the name of, and aren't easy to find.
