I dont think so. Water conducts electricity. Theirs a lot of bare metal contacts on an NES for it to not be affected. In fact Im sure you'd just fry it. The whole process of electrolytic etching is based off water conducting electricity.palmertech wrote:I bet an NES would run underwater, even with just a bare mobo.

That probably would hurt an xbox (because of the HDD and ODD), but an NES is fine, as long as it's not plugged in.jleemero wrote:

Re: Cardboard and duct tape nes!
Yeah but palmer's saying it will WORK underwater. I doubt that. But, I don't bet against palmer, he usually wins and I owe him about 60 dollars.nevermind1534 wrote:That probably would hurt an xbox (because of the HDD and ODD), but an NES is fine, as long as it's not plugged in.jleemero wrote:

Alright, lets do this. Make a post in the bet thread outlining what you think are fair terms.

Re: Cardboard and duct tape nes!
All this talk of an NES running underwater reminds me of a YouTube video I saw of someone covering a bare SNES running "Star Fox" with vegetable oil.

And they tried it with water, and it stopped working, then they dried it off, and it workedTwilight Wolf wrote:All this talk of an NES running underwater reminds me of a YouTube video I saw of someone covering a bare SNES running "Star Fox" with vegetable oil.

Re: Cardboard and duct tape nes!
Well, I decided that I am going to take apart my gorrilla tape nes and use the nes for a secret project. The box was starting to get pretty banged up too from being hauled back and forth from school, so a sturdier case from an old PC (oops project spoiler!) would be better anyway.
