I knew the music was from an F-Zero game, just couldn't remember which one, so I left it at "rockin'".
There is no black or white but rather a million shades of gray...

See, for tinning, it hardly takes any time at all. I just lay down all the wire ends in a row on top of a long strip of solder, then touch the iron to each end for a second. The whole process probably takes 30 seconds at most.

So, for those of you keeping track at home:marshallh wrote:See, for tinning, it hardly takes any time at all. I just lay down all the wire ends in a row on top of a long strip of solder, then touch the iron to each end for a second. The whole process probably takes 30 seconds at most.
900 - 30 = 870 seconds remaining
192 - 96 = 96 connections remaining
870 / 96 = 9.0625 seconds per connection

Re: N64 cart slot relocation timelapse
Now ShockSlayer is going to have to try this, because he realizes his portables are taking minutes longer than they need to take.

Ah yes, wrong labels. I've been doing geometry, not much real math.
I'll go for a speed run next time, this time was for the video's sake!

Wow, I should try that! It sounds like a really good technique. What kind/size solder do you use?marshallh wrote:See, for tinning, it hardly takes any time at all. Re: N64 cart slot relocation timelapse
Isn't that the truth - when I was in high school, the teacher gave us the final exam on the first day to see how we would do. I got 55% on it, but I bombed the section on proofs (which, of course, I hadn't learned yet).ShockSlayer wrote:Ah yes, wrong labels. I've been doing geometry, not much real math.
That class sucked - I was taking Advanced Algebra at the same time (sophomore year), though, so I was getting my 'real' math fix.
And doesn't that make me feel old - I was in Geometry class when the 9/11 attacks occurred...

I think you should do a short video podcast. I'm going through withdrawal waiting for the next official one.ShockSlayer wrote:Yeah, wow.

Re: N64 cart slot relocation timelapse
I was just throwing the suggestion out there. I thought you'd just talk about whatever you want, maybe show something you are working on or something, and then upload it to youtube.ShockSlayer wrote:A podcast, huh? Perhaps I could....are you looking for a vdeo or audio? Think ben would host it?

Nothing official, mind you - just something to kill time.

"It makes me feel like a spider."
Great video SS, kind of funny actually.

I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.
