Separaters or spacers

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Separaters or spacers

Post by grayfox126 »

I was wondering what might be the best thing the use to separate or space apart boards in the case. The layout from bottom to top will pretty much be:

mainboard
memory card
screen
controller

this is for a DCp and I wanted to have a mem card so the mem card, will basically be between the mainboard and the screen. Any ideas?

What about plastic pcb spacers like these, slice them down to the height you want between each board, drill the centres out (for those sections that are not already drilled) and use small self tapping screws to securely fasten the board together? Making sure you use a non-conductive part of the pcb of course.

Of course you could always just get something similar and hot glue the boards together, but that way you wouldn't easily be able to seperate them again.

Yeah I guess.

You can do pretty much anything you want as long as the boards aren't touching.
