I just realized a retro duo would be awesome in a toaster. has that been done?

Yeah, I hear ya. Those shots aren't showing everything exactly how it is today. I actually ended up shortening the wires down to around 3.5" and it helps, but still not perfect and unfortunately can't cut them any shorter for this toaster. :/ I've already accepted it for what it is and kept that in mind for the future.

Love the nutty video, very amusing!

Using a toaster gives you plenty of space to fit many types of systems as there is lots of space inside!

Heheh, thanks! :D

Yeah, it started as a joke but seems to have caught on. The great thing is, you can usually get a brand new toaster for well under $10. Beats the hell out of projects boxes in my humble opinion. I've even started thinking about the possibilities of the 4-slot ones. Hmmm...

If you could pull it off, a Super Genintari in a four-slot toaster would be epic.

Only downside to using toasters of course is that they are not portables, however, that doesn't matter to you so that's fine.

Four slot system - great idea, NES, SNES (both of RetroDuo for size), Genesis, N64 or SMS - only caveat I think is that you need to consider using ONE controller for all systems you use in it rather than having to swap them over; also having to incorporate four controller plugs would be unweldy. One controller, one cable. It would mean making your own controller to do this, but I think the result would be quite special.

Heheh, yeah. That'd be pretty awesome. :) Difficult and cramped, but not impossible.

Yep. You'd need the retroduo systems for nes/snes, the Genesis 3, and I'm not what I'd do about the N64 though. I understand that board in fairly large, right?
And yes, I have indeed given thought to a cusom/universal controller for a system like that. Not exactly sure how it'd be implemented, but again I'm sure it's not impossible. :)

The NES and SNES controllers are compatible with each other.

That's true, but things get a little hairy when you start tossing the Genesis and N64 into the mix.

It would mean having a thicker controller incorporating the (reduced) boards inside, and keeping the grounds separate.

The N64 board isn't that big, should fit fine in your toaster.

really cool, man. I like it.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Holy crap, I dunno that I'd have the patience to do what he did. o___o That's still some of the craziest micro-solder-surgery I've ever seen. I suppose I COULD, but I'd probably go crazy in the process.
