Most colleges in the midwest prefer the ACT test, so that's what I took.

I scored a 29 on it the first time (second time was a 28 - go figure). Not sure how that compares to SAT scores.

ACT as well. I got a 32 first try, 29 on second. Managed to get an 11 on the writing the second time (10 first time), even though my essay was utter garbage that degenerated into an anti-Communist rant for absolutely no reason at all barring extreme tiredness.

I just got 840 out of 900 on both the A+ certification tests... :? Does that count?

(Minimum passing score was 600 on one and 700 on the other.)

Nice! Any time is a good time for an anti-Communist rant - did you bring up Orwell?

They must have changed it since I took it - there wasn't an essay portion for us. Is it still scored based on 36 points?

I took the SATs for the first time in December.

Critical Reading-640
Math-640
Writing-490

This was without studying an ounce. I had no idea what they were looking for in the essay, so I screwed that up pretty bad, as you can see. Writing is actually one of my best subjects. Next time I take it, I'm going to study a little bit, and I'll do a practice essay or two. I'm aiming for 700s across the board. 2100 doesn't seem like a reach for me. Am I being cocky?

Yeah, it's still based on 36 (I have a friend who managed a 36! ). The writing score is out of 12, and integrated into the English score.

The writing portion is optional, too (I didn't take it).

I got a 33 on the ACT, first try. Its the lowest 33 you can get, the average of my scores is 32.5, so I would have had to raise the average a whole point to score higher, so I just kept it. It was the English portion that drug me down, only a 27, the others were a 35 and 2 34's. A kid at my school got a 35, and I know several others that got 34.

I took the ACT in seventh grade. I can't remember what my scores were, but I got around 50th percentile overall. I'll be taking it again next year. And I get to take the AP test this year, next year, and the year after that Image

I got a 36 on the ACT. Doesn't do much good when I graduated with something like a 1.93, though. I kinda had this thing about not going to class or doing homework.

I often get low grades because of the homework.

I haven't taken mine yet, but I hope I do well. I did decent on the PSAT (like a 200) but my Reading sucks compared to my Math and Writing scores. I always end up getting like 10 points less on Reading. Like I got 70s Math and Writing, but a 60 on Reading. Makes me rage! Darn vocabulary questions! haha

Off topic a bit, but when do you guys think I should take my SAT? May or June?
