We had three of our English classes (two Film as Literature classes and one Future Literature class) go to an EARLY showing of Watchmen. We got to MISS SCHOOL and see it at 10 in the morning. Our teachers got on the front page of the newspaper because of it too.

I do like how well they kept the movie very very very close to the book. The scene at the original Night Owl's porch first struck me as looking exactly the same as the novel. I was quite happy with the ending. When I heard that the ending was different than the novel, I was sorta mad. But the way they did it made it only slightly different than the novel, and I was very satisfied.

Well, I just finished reading the graphic novel, watched both trailers in 1080p, and I have to say that I'm really excited to see this movie now. Possibly tomorrow.

Just saw it. It was amazing but I have too much of a adrenaline rush to go to sleep.
I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

Man, the whole Comedian thing and Laurie part is weird... Also, where's the nearest gun store so I can kill myself from the sight of that video? :)

Having not read the graphic novel I still found it quite good. I was far less confused by Watchmen (as a noob) than I was when first watching "Fellowship of the Ring" (which I also never read).

I wonder though if this movie will have "legs"...

There was lots of violence and ass kicking which is something I like in movies. It also had naked boobs, which is the other thing I like in movies. So overall I'd say it was awesome.

I never read the comic either, nor had I heard of them before. I thought it was fantastic. I'm really excited to see it again. Some people said it was slow for the first hour and a half, but I thought it was really interesting even before the main part of the plot started moving. I didn't think it was confusing but I also didn't expect it to be a Batman or Spiderman kind of movie.

Funny how ranged the reviews are. Seems you either get it or you don't.

That scene was quite awkward with my teachers there too. One of them leaned over to someone and said "I HOPE THIS ISN'T AS AWKWARD FOR YOU AS IT IS FOR ME...."

I did see it again yesterday. Just like the novel, I picked up a lot more stuff going through for the second time.

If anyone's interested, the article I mentioned in a previous post is here. My TA Norm is on the, and my other english teacher Steve is on the right. Steve has an entire wall at school with shelves and shelves of action figures he's collected over the years. He bought all of the Watchmen action figures, but isn't opening them.

I snagged a ticket to the IMAX midnight showing here last week. I had some complaints immediately after seeing it, though those don't seem as severe now after talking with others who saw it.

I need to see it again, though, which says something about its quality.

i havent read the comic book but i still enjoyed it

i think i might have to go out and read it though cos it seems theres bits ive missed, not that i really noticed when watching it.

I went with my friend who'd read the book. but she seemed to not have any major problems with it.
