What about that new Terminator movie?

Though it is a downer that Arnold isn't in it, but It still looks like a nicer than anything that we have had in the past year.

I agree. Look back in time, any year ending in 9 or 4 is a great year for movies!

2004 (Spider-Man 2)

1999 (Matrix)

1994 (Lion King, Forrest Gump)

1989 (Batman, Indy 3)

1984 (Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters, Beverly Hills Cop, Gremlins)

No Die Hard movie came out in a year ending 4 or 9, sorry. (88, 90, 95, 07)

I wonder if Watchmen will be big... I didn't read the novel but I'll go see it.

As for the ending, been trying to avoid spoilers, but from what I understand he changed it for "movie brevity" which I can understand. Basically if it ended like the comic they'd need to spend time explaining more, whereas the new ending kind of speaks for itself.

Actually 2008 was a great movie year too. We should all predict the BIG HIT OF 2009!

Something to keep in mind is most of the movies coming out this year were in one or another affected by the writer's strike AND the actor's strike. Everything had to be wrapped before June/July of 08 in case the actors had a strike (there still is no contract, being a de-facto strike is still in effect), plus they were filmed DURING the writer's strike so no re-writes during production. Not even changing lines on the fly.

In fact fall '08 only TWO big movies were in production in LA - Angels and Demons and Transformers 2.

That could be good or bad. A lot of the best movies ever were done very quickly. We'll see..

I think it could work well. To finish the movie with John Cale's "Sanities" would be necessary, though.

Why do you say so?

(Aside from the obvious that it may be crap and ruin the rep of the movie.)
