I haven't tried the amps in the gift cards yet, if they are good quality I will have a use for them too. At the moment I use a similar amp, from a small MP3 portable speaker set which I hacked, now use via mains power to power two large lounge speakers via a 40Gb MP3 player via the headphone jack - had it running day and night for months - sound quality is great! Always useful to have spares too!
Sure, small speakers aren't usually great, but there is always a compromise between sound quality and size of the speakers. The PSone mylar speakers are perfectly fine but not fantastic, sometimes in gadgets you need speakers really slim and small however. I have several small speakers of different types, many suck, some are ok. Good quality mylar speakers are more like 50mm diameter which is rather big for a system (I have used them before). I tried to get some 25mm mylar speakers a while back to test them, and they were going to cost over twice the price of these!
Anyway, I have an alternative motive for these gift cards, as I mentioned to schmellyfart - after doing a few portables with my cases I will re-do my Mini project from the ground up and use the gift cards to hold a few of the plug'n'play game electronics as game carts; as they seem thick enough and about the right size; also they slot into place against the white lid - in other words, ideal size!

gameboy fixer 77= scammer.
he said my atari was dirty, and broken. it was cleaned, and tested, before shipment. if it was broken, why did he start selling it as working? he probably didnt put it on the right channel.

Sometimes, life isn't fair, but you just have to work around it.
