Handbuilt NES power switch question

Ok I am ready to put the 1/16 metal strip onto the front of the case but the switch was not listed on the parts page. Is this something I get from radio Shack? If so does anyone know the part Number?

The one in the NES does not look like the one in Ben's picture.

Yeah, you can get the switch from Radio Shack. It is a SPST slide switch, Part number 275-401 (which is the one I used). There is another SPST slide switch (part number 275-406), but I dunno if it would work. The amperage is lower on on 275-406 (.3 amps). The one I used is rated for 6 amps. I hope this helps.

or you could be cool and build a sweet knife switch twice the size of your protable out of leftover metal scraps. Just bolt that baby on to the back of your portable NESp. It'll give your portable that "Frankenstien" look I'm we are all dreaming of. (ended with a preposition haha!)

It'd be awesome if they made miniature versions of those switches, so everyone could have a little (enter Frankenstein doctor's name here) in him.

yeah, i've got a little 3 inch frankenstien switch. I use it for testing, just cause it's so simple to wire up.

sorry to be alittle nitpicky with this, but "Frenkenstien" never had a name and his doctors name was "Dr. Frenkenstien"

man that was geeky...anyway, I could have sworn that they listed that part numbers for the switches in the Basic electronics section (browses book) they do in fact!

You can get those knife switches at hobby shops and at Lowe's hardware-look in the nut and bolt section. They are located in the miscellaneous tray.

I used to play with those switches all the time when I was younger- now I have better electronic toys.
