Left 4 Dead
Moderator:Moderators
Finally downloaded it of Steam and sweet Jesus is it good. Anyone else here a player and if so, fancy a match some time?
Now to make it sound less bloggy, what's your opinion?

I think EA is just the publisher; their name isn't anywhere on the Orange Box games and they published that...
Probably won't pick Left 4 Dead up until the new PC gets built. (And after the Guitar Hero 3: Aerosmith bundle for PC.)

I'm reading it requires a 256mb video card.
Mine is the Quadro NVS 140M. It says it has 512 Mb of memory (Nvidia Control Panel => System Information) but I thought it was 128, which makes more sense for a laptop.
So...lowest settings (except resolution). Do I have a chance?
The rest isn't a problem (Core2Duo T8300, 2.4ghz, 3 gigs DDR2 RAM, 1440x900 resolution 14.1" screen, Lenovo)

Hey, sup?
perhaps it has shared video memory in which case maybe it can borrow some of your system RAM as video RAMKurt_ wrote:I'm reading it requires a 256mb video card.

EA only makes the discs and boxes for the retail version in the North American region. None of the profits go to them if you buy off Steam.Kurt_ wrote:Is this mostly a Valve or mostly an EA game?
EA always looks enticing but always disappoints.
Running it on a C2D E6600 @ 2.4GHz, 8800GTS 320MB, 1024x768 windowed, 2GB DDR2 and it plays fine, I have used Left 4 Dead on my unibody MacBook with the nVidia 9400M chipsets and C2D @ 2.4 GHz and it plays well. You should have no problems. Valve really optimized the code this time around.Kurt_ wrote:The rest isn't a problem (Core2Duo T8300, 2.4ghz, 3 gigs DDR2 RAM, 1440x900 resolution 14.1" screen, Lenovo)
