NES Lite Chrome

Post by Kaos2K » Wed Dec 03, 2008 5:28 am

Hi there! Im Kaos2K from Spain. Im watching Ben Heck's mods for a long time but i decided to join the forums right now.

I want to introduce you a modest mod that i realized time ago with a NES Clone console.

I pick the guts of a NASA console (NES Clone) and fit it in a Wood case. Then i painted it all with Silver chrome and black paint and do all the details. (I had a video of the console working but my 1st Youtube account was deleted and consequently my video removed)

It's definitely great for your first. I've always loved seeing compact versions of these consoles, look so much better than stock.

Nice casemod. I really like the look of it. How did you get the text on it? Stickers?

Stickers for the Power&Player text

The logo is part of a Nintendo Ds Lite Instruction Booklet and part custom text created with photoshop. (the "NES" text)

That's creative. I like it. Looks very professional too (though the nintendo nes is a bit redundant)

Yeah, a bit redundant but i always think that NES is not an acronym of "Nintendo Entertainment System" :P

Nintendo being the brand and NES being the system. Makes sense kind of but a bit redundant yes. Like people saying SWAT team.

Very nice. What board did you use to get it to that size? If you used an original "toaster" board (or really any board), how did you mount the connector?

The board was originally split in 2 pieces tied by a cable. I only had to put one part above the other to reduce the width.

The board was not as big as the original NES. It was a bit less.

Actually, SWAT stands for 'Special Weapons and Tactics', so saying team after it is perfectly valid

Great stuff Kaos, looking forward to seeing more of your stuff! :)
