Free Dr. Pepper's for all americans!

Post by nightwheel » Thu Nov 20, 2008 5:47 pm

LOS ANGELES – Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is a reality.

The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. "Chinese Democracy," infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.

"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."

Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. They'll be honored until Feb. 28.
Tasty Source

I don't know about you guys. But I'll be taking up this mighty fine offer this Sunday.

Who knows if the Namco Portable will ever become a reality? :P

Bleh, I don't like drinking water with crap in it.

EDIT: This wasn't meant as a slam on Dr. Pepper, just on soda/pop in general, as I find it rather appalling. I prefer water, milk, and juice, not because it's healthier (although it most certainly is), but because they are delicious.

Dr. Pepper isn't going anywhere. Do you know how much it costs to make one can of the stuff?

Probably about as much as it costs to make the can. (Less than a nickel)

Besides, not everyone likes Dr. Pepper. (I hate the crap.)

This stunt might only cost about as much as a superbowl ad, and most of the time, companies take out some kind of insurance on these bets anyway.

I like Dr. Pepper. I was aware of this bet before but this reminded me.

I will enjoy my free soda on Sunday.

Heh heh, no you won't :P I just barely signed up, and they're sending a coupon in the mail. It'll take 4-6 weeks to arrive.

It took so long to get on the site (and I have high speed) that I just gave up. My dad owns a gas station anyways so getting free pop is a breeze to me.
