SNES mod: Shinju
Moderator:Moderators
Hey all!
Last week I saw my SNES look at me in a sad way and I got all guilty because
I hadn't finished my mod which I started waay back and left to collect dust half done.
The idea was to make the SNES resemble a Wii with a blue led slot and a white paint job.
It also has a 50/60 hz switch in the back, is region free and of course has the widened slot.
So here you have my first completed console mod, Shinju, which means pearl in japanese.
Hope you like it and feel free to give me some feedback!

Or clear buttons with a blue led shining through.Sun-Wukong wrote:You should replace the A, B, X, and Y buttons with the a, b, x, and y buttons from a Classic Controller. Just a suggestion, cause I think it would look a lot cooler.

Yeah I've thought about that, though I didn't want to spend the money on the controller just to get the buttons. (Does anyone know if the buttons are the same size btw?) I've also thought about installing the whole SNES controller inside the classic controller case. Might happen in the future.Sun-Wukong wrote:You should replace the A, B, X, and Y buttons with the a, b, x, and y buttons from a Classic Controller. That did actually cross my mind also, but I left it at this for now. Another idea I had was to build a wireless SNES controller inside the classic controller. Again, I may attempt this later.grossaffe wrote:looks true to what you were going for except for the controller. as others have mentioned, the buttons could be switched out, but also it could use a white wire leading to the console.
Thanks for the nice comments everyone!
EDIT:
Q: Does anyone know if the buttons are the same size btw?
A: Seems they are, found this after a little searching:
