So, I heard back from him, but he's got some other stuff going on that would make it difficult for us to work together. He wanted to help, though.

Ah, I'm getting ahead of myself anyway. I'm just trying to find other stuff to do while I wait for my boards... they seem like they're taking so long. Image Marshall also got back with me and said he thinks he's going to hold off on messing with the code, and told me to get back with him when I get my prototype working. That's his way of telling me to slow down, as well. Image

I'll still be doing some research on stuff, but I do need to take it easy for a sec and stop trying to get people to do stuff before it needs to or even can be done. :? Right now, the software is all complete enough to start the project, and I need to start it before I try to make it better, so that's what I'm gonna do. Everyone else, feel free to toss any ideas or questions at me. Truth is, I won't be able to stop thinking about it anyway 'till I complete it, but I am going to try to take everything one step at a time. :)

I know it. :) Happens to me all the time.

The solution? Start a mini-project. Maybe try to add S-Video or RGB to an N64, or some other kind of small mod to a system.

About the software; just get enough of it done to run a game. Once you know it works, than design the GUI.

I knew he was working on those, but it's a different project that he working on which is preventing us from working together. However, I'm not at liberty to disclose it at this time...

At what number would bulk discounts start for you? I'm trying to get as many as I can (At least 6) if it will bring the price down any...

I think you said it was between 75-100 dollars right?

I never thought of bulk rates... I didn't think anyone would want to buy more than one at a time. I dunno... maybe I can give bulk rates starting at 5... What version would you want? HDD or CF, and with or without FX2?

I was thinking more along the lines of bulk discounts all around. Cause I know if you order 1 board that would cost a lot more per piece than if you ordered 100(per say).

Chances are I'm going to end up going with the majority order. I want at least one of the Hard Drive version. The rest can be CF. I have to read back to understand the FX question.

Chances are I'm going to just put the 5 in seperate Arcade Machines(If your board works the way I'm predicting)

Emulators are an amazing thing aren't they? You know you could have a temp setup with sd-boot right? If you do then..:)

I've already built an Emulator arcade machine. I'm a little PO'd that Bust-a-Groove doesn't work properly on it. I really REALLY wanna build a machine that'll just run my own code on it :)

Your own code? What kind of programmer are you?

No updates yet, by the way. The boards are still at "Panelized" status, which means they haven't even been sent to the board house for fabrication yet. Image The next status update will be "Panel Inbound," which means that the designs have been sent to the board house.

BatchPCB is taking their time filling up this panel, it seems. It's only supposed to take 2 or 3 days. Maybe it's because they were all busy with Maker Faire in Austin. Hmm... I wonder if Rekarp went to that...

Good news... I emailed BatchPCB and they said my boards are already in the hands of Gold Phoenix. It still only says they're panelized, though. They said this was a common confusion and that there will be more statuses to clear this up in their new site. Right now, the status will actually change to "Panel Inbound" when the panel is on its way BACK to BatchPCB from Gold Phoenix, even though the FAQ says it means the panel design has been sent TO Gold Phoenix.

So, that's good. :P I guess I'll be getting them sooner than I thought. I'll keep you guys updated...
