Hello, fellow modders...
I started work on my gamecube portable (aka: "palm cube") about a week ago and have made some great progress. Basically, its techknott's design with one board moved around.
Currently, I'm getting a new camera, so I can't post pics (yet...)
Anyhoo, its about an inch thick, 5" wide and 8 1/2" tall (estimate from looking at it.)
BTW, I'm only 14 and this is my first portable (I did an N64 about a year ago, but it died in the making. )

if you haven´t yet tecknott magic soldering skills (like me ^^), you can try this alternative DD design for the portable, I found this long time ago at those forums.
here is a pic I made after the mod
you also can find some info about the pinouts at my portable topic)

It's techknotts w/ an easier case!!!
Anyhoo, a couple of progress pics
(click 4 big photo)
Slimmed Disk drive:
With my cellphone:
Ahhhhh... so anorexic (like the models )
Than I shrink the mobo:
The dd pcb stands alone...
More to come!!!

Wait... He has made the best gamecube portable so far? You should lok a bit harder, he has barely started, and there are several other people who have made gamecube portables.
As far as the request for instructions... Same thing I tell all the people who email me about stuff: If you are not able to figure it out with just basic guidelines and a few pointers... It is not likely that you have the skill needed to complete the projects. A gamecube portable is not something that you will be able to build just because somebody posts step by step instructions. Not to mention the fact that making a tut is hard work.
Hmmm... I bet he would do it if you offered him money.

That may be true (people will do anything for money now days), but I don't have any money on me. I am one of those people that can do anything by just following instructions. I have made a PS2portable just by following instructions and have developed a very very very slight basic knowledge on hacking consoles. The reason I want to do a Gamecube is that is the only console I can affor, A friend of mine is selling his for $5. What I mean by that being great is that the case is the best I've seen. Same with the person's idea that he used for inspiration ( I forgot his/her name) Anyway I would appreciate highly if someone could give me some steps.
Are you talking about this picture?FireSkull101 wrote:Hey Basement_Modder I have a request to ask you. If possible, can you please post some instructions with pics and an estimated budget on the site. I am new to the hacking worl (age 13, almost 14) and you have made the best gamecube portable I have seen so far. Please consider.
That is just a concept, click it, its been drawn.
