seperating the screen from the controller on a hip gear scre

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

seperating the screen from the controller on a hip gear scre

Post by monkeyman »

help!!!!!!!!!!!

ive unscrewed the controller and screen sections, and opened the controller, i see the wires going to the screen, and im ready to cut them, but i cant figure out how to seperate the controller from the screen, at the part where it can swivel and lock in. Do i have to literally cut the controller at this place, or is there a way to seperate the screen and the controller?

Also, i was told that you can just cut the wires going to the screen section, and sodor video in, audio l and audio r in, and dc power in (so the screen can be multipurpose), can anybody tell me which colour wire going from the controller board to the screen is for which function, i looked at ladyada's forum, but it was talking about pin#'s (im a newby  ) and i dont want to screw this project up.

Thx in advance!!

Take a small flathead screw driver and pry at the seem for that hing. As for the pinout of the screen, do a search for it or search for post by Ladyana (you'll want the first two or so).
