I am aware of that system, and would have portablized it long ago, if they were here in the states.
Here is what I remember. The FDS(Famicom Disk System) Runs off of 6 "C" type batteries at 7.5, I believe, which indicates a 7805. Replace with 7.2V remote control car battery packs and an LDO. Also, decreasing the size from 6 "C" cells to a normal battery should make the unit a good bit lighter and more compact.
Also, there was a compatible floppy disk that was 2.5 x 3.5 inches I believe(the name escapses me) that was so similar, that those disks were used for piracy. I'd llook for that actual drive and see if I could rig it up to the RAM adapter(the part that plugs into the Famicom controller port) if that drive should be smaller than the FDS itself.
Remember when you buy them that the belts inside can wear to the point where they need replaced.
Also, they say that once you dismantle an FDS, it never fully recovers. It always makes some kind of noise.

I'm not sure about using an NOAC with the FDS. for all we know, the FDS may use those extra traces, and need a real Famicom/NES. ^^*Nes Man wrote:That would be really Big.Why don't you buy a Portable Famicom and hook up the FDS up to it. It would be easier. Or you could use an NOAC.
