It kind of looks like the radioactive spawn of a calculator and a Game Boy. But hey if it's comfortable to hold, who cares?

Nice job!

The "Not Quite So Fugly" NOAC

Post by Life of Brian » Tue Feb 26, 2008 8:23 pm

Okay, so I spruced it up a little bit with some neat self-adhesive shelf liner I bought a long long time ago and never used for anything. Still not beautiful, but better.

That's fairly spiffy there! Just the smallest effort and details can change a case from fugly to...well at least not ugly.

You could make the bumps invisible if you use mounting board instead - minor imperfections will not be visible, you will get a better finish. You could always cover the mounting board with this silver material afterwards if you like.

I tried that first, but the thickness of the mounting board made the d-pad hard to press because it was almost the same height. I tried cutting a circle around the d-pad instead, but didn't like that either. I then decided to put it directly on the case. If I had some really thin but strong card stock then I would have used that, but I don't and so I didn't.

Video!

Post by Life of Brian » Tue Mar 11, 2008 3:04 pm

I recorded a video and put it on YouTube. Not that this thing deserves this much coverage, but because I felt like it. Enjoy!

I will. I'm tired of using my Nester J emulator on psp. I'd like something... you know... that could pass for legal. XD Any way thanks for the welcome and I will enjoy this. I'm just hoping the screens a good size. XD

He didn't make it. He just modified a pre-made case.

Technically, seeing as how this thing comes pre-packaged with roms, it's not legal either. :P

Good point... At least I could take it out in public.
