PSP Firmware questions

Post by project_failure » Sun Jan 06, 2008 10:21 pm

I just got my psp yesterday and I want to put custom firmware on it, but first I have some questions.

If I put the latest custom firmware on it can i play any psp games?

Will I be able to use any emulators and home brew on it?

And finally!

could some one help me do put custom firmware on it?

it is firmware 3.51. And in the mean time if i decide to play my new castlevania game and upgrade it to 3.52 is that okay?

It is not junk! It is assorted goods with no current use.

I don't know much about PSP hacking, but I do know one thing. If you're planning to do custom things, never upgrade to an official firmware. (Unless explicitly told to do so)
Playing Castlevania should be safe, but I can't swear on it.

Since you're already on 3.51, you should just go ahead and upgrade to whatever firmware you need to play Castlevania. Any official firmware past 3.50 requires a Pandora battery and memory stick to downgrade. Without knowing someone that has a homebrew compatible PSP, you're kind of boned.

We should have an official pandora battery and memory stick that we loan out to forum members.

Only to trusted forum members though or it would probably get stolen. :)
