What do you do with your hair...?

Post by Electric Rain » Sat Dec 29, 2007 5:04 am

Okay, I know everyone here doesn't just have medium-short hair that they get cut once a month or whatever. I know for a fact that someone here has an afro. I'm pretty sure there are some people that have relatively long hair too. Well, I have "big" hair. I've always kinda wanted to have long hair, but it doesn't grow down... it grows out. I've always been interested in cosplay, and I've been told I have "good" hair, meaning that it's thick, healthy and easy to style. So, I never want to get my hair cut, but I don't know how to style it to make it look half-way decent so that I can keep it and wait for an opportunity to do something with it. What always ends up happening is my mother will eventually say "You have way too much hair... I've got to cut it..." But if I can figure out something to do with my hair so that it doesn't just sit on my head in a giant puff, I won't have to get it cut.

Right now it doesn't even reach all the way down my neck, and it stays out of my eyes and off my ears for the most part. That's because it has so much volume; it just grows out and makes my head look huge. But if I grab some of it, it's just long enough on my bangs and the front sides of my head to put in my mouth. I'll take a picture soon, maybe. In the mean time, what do you guys do with your hair and what do you think I should do with mine?

Let's put it this way: Hats don't even really fit on my head; they just sit on my hair.

Is it just me, or does the idea of real human beings dressing up like weird japanese comic book characters creep the hell out of anybody else? I never understood this japanese geek phenomenom. :?

...Probably just you... Now do you have something of value to add to this thread?

Oh, quick question though, do you also find it weird when people dress up like superheros of this country? Superman, Batman, ect? Or are you just being prejudice because it's Japanese? :P

I am in no way prejudice to any race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.

I find it just as weird when someone dresses up like darth vader to go to a movie premiere, or when someone dresses up like spock at a star trek convention. I am just horribly weirded out by the fact that people actually enjoy dressing up like these characters and roleplaying their part. I mean Halloween is one thing. But people actually make a hobby out of it? :?

As for having anything of value to add to the hair conversation goes, the answer is nope. I keep my hair short, and I like it that way.

DK, my hair looks about exactly like yours in length and volume, but it's not curly. It's 100% straight.

Try going to hairdressers that cater for african/carrabian people and ask for hair relaxer. Should get your hair nice and floppy.

Okay, took some pictures. Should give you a better idea of what I'm dealing with. I don't think I want you all to see my face yet, so just think of the following pictures as floating hair... I guess.

And the killer shot, me leaning over at a 90 degree angle, looking at the floor, allowing gravity to wreck havoc on my hair and show just how much of it I have. Shot was taken with camera pointing upwards at my face. I actually couldn't extend my arms out far enough to get all of my hair in this shot...

I get a haircut to 4cm twice a year, then I let it grow. I like long hair, but I'm too lazy to get a real haircut, so I let it grow, and once it becomes too long, I just trim it

Yeah but it's electric rain so you have to expect it from him (he likes hentai for christs sake) The whole otaku deal that doesn't involve videogames completely puzzles me but meh, to each his own I guess.

My hair did a similar thing when I had it long, slightly curly and lots volume but didn't get long enough to manage very quickly. All I managed to figure out to keep it neat was a hat, then bandanna + hat, then eventually back to just a hat when it was a little longer, and then ponytail + hat when it was a bit longer than that. And unfortunately now, it's lots of some fruit-smelling sticky substance to keep it spiky as I had it cut very short to get my new boss off my back.

Trust me, it may look like a bit of an oddity for guys, but once you get it to ponytail length (even if you need a hat to restrain the shorter front bits), it's extremely practical and worry free, I still regret folding to my boss (particularly because the lack of hair makes my head look slightly to small for my body :?).

I laugh at you:
But if I grab some of it, it's just long enough on my bangs and the front sides of my head to put in my mouth.
It's 100% straight. Shocked
MY hair is much closer to being 100% straight. I wet it in the morning, and let it do its thing. It's slowly getting shorter. No pictures of me though, maybe later.

naturally curly and when i straighten it it's about an inch past my shoulders or more, now... i'm becoming more surprised now that i grew my hair out because i was sick of short hair and now it's popular for girls to have short hair. when i had short hair it was the "thing" to have it long.. i'm rambling.
