i was working on my portable ps1 soldering the second player controller and memory card ports to the board
then when i went to test if they worked the playstations wouldnt turn on
the screen worked fine but notheing was showing up and the disc wasnt spinning can some one tell me if my board is fried or not

Its fried or not getting power. Check the fuses

they could be surface mount or cylindercal idk where they are.

This is a common problem. There is a square fuse right next to the DC in power plug on the top of the board, that you have to jump with a piece of wire.
Take a pic of the mobo and I can point it out for you :)

Jump the one circled in red. If that dosn't work it try jumping the one circled in blue.
Before you jump anything though, you should use a multimeter to check for continuity to make sure the positive part of the plug (the center pin of the power plug) leads to the fuse circled in red (test the right side of the fuse). This way you know for sure it is the fuse.

Solder a wire from one end of the fuse to the other end, therefore bypassing the fuse.

well fuses blow for a reason so you might want to find what caused it to blow before jumping it

Usually yes, but the PSone is an exception. The fuses seem blow for no reason at all (kinda like the N64 mobo dying for no reason).
Jumping it can't hurt it (you just won't have a fuse anymore).
