My favorite band is Rage Against the Machine. That should say a lot. I also like They Might Be Giants a little.

I don't want to make an "I'm leaving" thread, but I've sort of lost interest in this board. So if you notice that I'm gone, that's why.

Bands I like/listen to a lot.

Dragonforce
Stratovarius (I think I got the spelling remotely right.)
Metallica
Led Zep (Again I can`t spell)
AC/DC
Goldfinger
Avenged Sevenfold (So far my 2 favorite songs are Beast and the Harlot, and Strength of the world) Van Halen
Wasp

I only like a handful of RAP, but I ABSOLUTLY HATE most of it.
Country (God my friend`s father listens to this, thank god I had a mp3 player on the hour and a half car ride.

I like the softer metal, heavier metal, rock, etc. as long as they sing and don't scream or cry the song. Trivium, or whatever that band is called, has a lead singer that sounds like a pig.

http://www.last.fm/music/Trivium?q=trivium

Hey, they started singing. They sound pretty good now, actually.

What I mean by piggy noises:

Favourite Bands (In order, sort of) are:

Tool
The Offpsring
Rammstein
S.O.A.D, others in this genre
Nirvana

I have a very narrow taste for music.
Hey, sup?

In order from best to...well good. IN THIS EXACT ORDER!

70s Rock
Led Zeppelin
AC/DC
Ska
Classic Rock
Punk
Trance
Most everything else

I probably forgot something...oh well. I'll edit it.

I like alternative, rock, and metal. I like country a bit (love songs), I don't like rap.

Some of my favorite bands:
Breaking Benjamin
Evanescence
Hoobastank
Linkin Park (not their last CD, its not as good as the others)
Red Jumpsuit
Reliant K
Seether
Three Days Grace

My taste in music is really weird, theres usually only a few songs that I like from any given band.

I listen to metal and rock, but since those are about as broad as your mom, here's the sub genres:

Heavy metal
Hair metal
Death metal
Thrash metal
Hard rock (mostly 70s-80s)
a lot of 80's stuff

And of course what I hate:

Punk rock
Emo
Rap
Country
Old people rock n roll (mostly 50s-60s stuff)
Jazz
Pop
Nickelback
Most stuff associated with racial minorities (nothing against the people, I just don't like the music :P )

You got the spelling exactly right! :: celebrates ::

As Edutainment said, "Here, from my Facebook profile:"

Code: Select all

A Perfect Circle, Alter Bridge, Tori Amos, At The Drive-In, Audioslave, Ludwig van Beethoven, Black Label Society, Black Sabbath, Black Star, Joe Budden, Johnny Cash, Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty, Eric Clapton, Cream, Creed (perhaps THE most unfairly maligned band ever), Cypress Hill, Danzig, Miles Davis, Zach de la Rocha, The Deftones, Disturbed, The Doors, Dream Evil, Bob Dylan, Eisbrecher, Eminem, Fort Minor, Grateful Dead, Grey Daze, Jimi Hendrix, Immortal Technique, In Flames, Incredible Hog, Incubus, Into Eternity, Iron Savior, Isis, Jefferson Airplane, Billy Joel, Killswitch Engage, King Crimson, KoRn, Led Zeppelin, Linkin Park, Vera Lynn [An odd inclusion, I will concede. - Ed.], Marilyn Manson, The Mars Volta, Megadeth, Metallica, Mnenmic, Mos Def, Motorhead, Muse, Niggaz With Attitude, Randy Newman, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Opeth, Ozzy Osbourne, Pagan's Mind, Pantera, Passenger, Jaco Pastorius, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Public Enemy, Queens of the Stone Age, Raekwon, Rage Against the Machine, Ra, Rammstein, The Rasmus, Raunchy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Red Sparowes, Rolling Stones, Carlos Santana, Gil Scott-Heron, Terror2000, Tupac Shakur, Simon and Garfunkel, Skid Row, Slayer, Snoop Dogg, Soilwork, Soundgarden, Spinal Tap, Staind, Stratovarius, Johann Strauss, Suicidal Tendencies, System of a Down, Talib Kweli, Team Sleep, Tool, The Devin Townsend Band, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Tricky, U2 (excluding "How..."), Velvet Revolver, Richard Wagner, Weather Report, Weird Al Yankovic, and Kanye West.
I too like Dragonforce, but they're among a slew of metal bands that I wouldn't consider my "favorite music", and, keeping in mind their style, wouldn't really be a good representation of my "musical tastes"; I like the way they do what they do, but there are other bands who do similar stuff to what they do that I just don't care for based soley on what the stuff is in and of itself. Solve for x.

King Blues (Fave band and I met the dudes after a gig XD)
Bedouin Soundclash
Flogging Molly (Celtic Punk, name makes them sound all scary, but they're not)
Gogol Bordello
Aquabats and other Ska

Does parody's count as a "type" of music? In that case parodies like weird al yankovic. (I'm not a huge music fan)
