What programming languages do you know?

Post by Electric Rain » Tue Sep 11, 2007 3:56 pm

Inspired by the "What languages do you speak?" thread, this thread has been made for you to tell us what programming languages you know, are learning and/or want to learn. I figured it was a little more geek-ish than the normal language thread. :P Oh, and anything goes (from HTML to assembly). Yes, while it may only be a "mark-up" language, I still consider HTML to be a language. ;)

I'm a webmaster, so I am fluent in HTML and CSS, I know a good amount of Javascript, and I'm currently learning PHP and MySQL. In time, I would like to learn C, maybe Java and definitely Flash, although that's not quite a programming language, unless you consider ActionScript. *shrugs*

Your turn!

Edit: W00t! 7800th thread in Forum 42! :P

Seriously though, I know some HTML and plan on learning some simple command line stuff for Linux.

I don't want to make an "I'm leaving" thread, but I've sort of lost interest in this board. So if you notice that I'm gone, that's why.

Java, objective-C, C, and even better, C++. Been writing a bunch of native OS X games lately, because I really want to develop some native apps for the new iPod touch (built in accelerometer ftw). If you want some src PM me.

And of course HTML if you consider it a programming language.

[prediction] Sky will come in this thread in a little bit and wreck shop with his classic color coded post. [/prediction]

hmm does MatLab count?

I know CSS pretty well and some php. My website doesn't have any tables and is completely CSS driven (with the exception of my email plugin but I didnt write that). Currently working on a gallery system for my website.

Not a programming language, mind you. Game Maker Language is a wrapper for Delphi, which is a wrapper for Pascal, which is a wrapper for assembly, then binary. Qualifies in my book. :P

I'd assume it means, "Haven't a clue."

I can do programming in bash shell, some VB (2005), a bit of qBASIC, and enough HTML to get myspace or a forum post done up decently. I'm not a programmer, I'll have to start working at getting better and learning some better languages in order to get there.
