I wouldn't say that. Noone is ever worse than Retromaster evar. But still, Benol, all of your grammar nazi posts are completely unneeded.Felino wrote:When will benol stop posting lame posts.
He is getting to be worse than retro master..
What languages do you speak?

That's spelled correctly, but it's a special kind of exit, one for cars, in fact.Kurt_ wrote:Ausfahrt
"Glück auf" is an expression only people who work under the earth (in a mine, for example) use. It litterally means "Luck up", as in "good luck getting up here again"Gluck Auf
"Du bist fett", your translation is correct."dubist fette"
Just so you know

I'm in Spanish 3, my school requires 3 years of one language (or at least up to the 3rd grade level), or 2 years each of 2 different languages. I'm alright at Spanish, half my family can (or could) speak it fluently. Definitely not gonna take Spanish 4 though.
I kinda wish I'd taken Latin, it seems a lot more useful to have a good Latin vocabulary so you can recognize words in a flash.

Agreed. English is a very screwy language. Spanish makes a bunch more sense. The main thing for me is that, like you said, it's phonetic, so spelling isn't a pain in the rear. Also, less exceptions to rules! English is horrible with those.benol wrote:Grammatically, compared to all of the other languages in the world, English is pretty screwed up. Adjectives come before nouns, verbs have only 2 conjugations in the present tense, and pronunciation isn't phonetic.

Yeah, offramp sums it up pretty much.Kurt_ wrote:@ Kyo: "Ausfahrt" is from the exits on the highway. I'm sure "offramp" would suit it better, right?
Gluck Auf has a much more dismal meaning than I thought. I came across this on a tour of an old mine.
you know, I heard the term "glück auf" for the first time in my life a few years ago when I was taking a tour of an old mine myself.

English (duh ), German, French, tiny bit of Spanish, even less Japanese, miniscule amount of Russian.
Our school is big on languages. French is compulsory at GCSE, and I also did German. I've dropped French for A Level, but I'm still doing German. I really like it. We did Spanish at primary school, Japanese I picked up from karate, and we did a bit of Russian for a laugh in a couple of lessons last year.
