Tennis and ThinkGeek Caffiene, two threads in one! :D

Post by CronoTriggerfan » Thu Aug 09, 2007 8:34 pm

For the first time in a while, I've found something that's fun! Martial arts lost my interest after beating the snot out of my regular opponents for nearly 4 years now, so I figured it's time to move on; to tennis! Just started this week, it's ub3r fun. Problem is, I learned that next week is our school's tryouts! Any players out there with some good advice for beginners?

On another topic, I just ordered shower shock and some energy gum from ThinkGeek. But does it really work? I mean, I'm sure it does, but how much "kick" does it really have?

Tip of tennis from me: don't hit the ball too hard. during the tennis unit in P.E. last year, me and my friend accidentally hit about 6 or so tennis balls over the fence and into no man's land :( . The teacher wasn't very pleased...

I've bought Bawls (drinks and mints) and Penguin mints from Thinkgeek before. The drink and the Penguin Mints are good and provide a noticeable kick. Bawls Mints have let me down, however. They taste good, but don't provide a boost unless you have like three. I've never tried either of those products, so I couldn't tell you.

The only time I enjoy Tennis is when completely disregarding the rules, and just whacking the ball as hard as possible, other than that..meh.

In primary school, we used to hit the ball as hard as we would up, then see who we could hit when it landed. That erned us many, many detentions. :D

What, did they pelt you with tennis balls in detention or something?

Back in Freshman year we would try to hit as many tennis balls on the roof without our gym teacher noticing.

Yeah, I've gotten nailed with one right in the family jewels, that was shot at me from about 6 feet away. Not fun.

That's how it is with me too, except it's even more fun if you mimic *Insert favorite sword weilding fictional character*'s moves while hitting the ball.

All I know about tennis is that the resemblance to between the game and the act of deflecting plasma bolts with a Lightsaber is purely coincidental and nothing I saw my character do any Dark Forces games is considered an appropriate method of play.

Any way, do tell us about the caffeine products products when they arrive, my coffee maker is busted and I'm getting sick of Mountain Dew.

remind me of the high school my brother goes to, the seniors pull a "grand prank" each year in April, so 2 years ago, they threw like thousands of tennis balls off the roof, and some dude got hit by a hockey puck that was thrown, really funny

And CTF, why do you need caffeine? I run on shear boredom, ice cream/ food, and Dragon Force music, but not caffeine... :P (I still wonder how I'm still alive after playing DDR at least 3 times a day...)
