Portablizing injuries. (Or Injuries at all)

Post by HotDog-Cart » Fri Jul 27, 2007 8:58 pm

Hey guys. If this thread has already been posted, tell me.

I wanna know if you guys have ever injured yourself in the course of making a portable, or any injuries that you have pics of.

Today, I stabbed myself in the stomach with a heated exacto knife. The tip broke and the knife went towards me. Dont worry, I'm alright. I got glue stitches.

Tell me yours. (I wanna see some nice stories or pics. :D)

Yea. But its hard. The blade was dull, also the plastic Im using is VERY thick. Like.. Quarter (Or more) of an inch. Also. I cant like clamp it down, as I already glued my disk drive in. (Duh! Stupid me. NEVER glue parts in before you cut out your A/C and RCA holes.)

Now, I know. :)

If it's that thick you should be using a hacksaw, not a knife.

And on the topic of injuries, I haven't really got any bad ones from soldering. One time I screwed up while holding a case and it made a big gash in my thumb. Somehow there's no scar. :? And another time we were trying to get the cat in the carrier. Well, cats are soft on top but really sharp underneath...

Yep. My uncle stabbed himself in the stomach with a knife while he was trying to pry apart two hot dogs.

Ouch. Also, I couldnt use my dremel as I was afraid of damaging my Disk drive inside the case.

Solding iron injuries are the fun!

I have a perfect imprint (its fading now, but you can still kinda see it) of my old soldering iron on my hand, i dropped it.. then caught it, on the hot end (gas btw). Not fun, made a sizzelling sound, and well, it hurt. :D

Superglue injuries include somone at school superglueing the back of both my hands to a desk (not a friend >.>), had to wait for somone to find some acetone.

Err, cracked my skull open when i was 3 i think, jumping on a bed or somthing, slipped. Off to hospital.

Last but not least, a guy on our bus in year 8 decieded i was emo and slit my wrists for me. Not fun, aparently my gf is emo?

Anyhoo!

I cracked my head open on a railroad track when I was 7ish.

Also, I still have super glue on my hands from gluing stuff. Any hints to getting it off?

I was climbing around at a friends house a long time ago, and he pushed me and this rusty old nail pierced my shoulder.

And @ Felino-Did you do anything to the kid on the bus? Sue him? Punch him? Anything?

Yea dude.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you could sue him for Attemptive murder. As, you could die if he slit your wrists bad enough. I know someone that, past away because of that. I would totally sue his ass.

Acetone gets superglue off easy, if you have the stuff. Time works too.

Meh, i / we never did much about it, it wasn't to deep, bled though, plus the guy was already suspended for drinking (beer i think) in class / drugs so its fine. :) In a way.

-Fel.

EDIT: He got beat up as well for it.
