The pictures make it look worse than it is. It's on the couch with some velvet or something on top of it, so it's not a flat surface. Really the only inconsistency with the top it the right shoulder sags down more than the left. That part was hard to get accurate, as that was completely by eye.

Top post on all 3 pages! woot!

I just came back to marvel in this portable's beauty yet another time, and I have a small request; would it be too much trouble to crack that puppy open and give us a couple shots of your cram job? I'm making a portable that's going to require a lot of it here pretty soon, and I think there are enough people who would care to see the wiring to make it worth your time.

No way in hell. This thing's sealed shut until it completely craps out on me. I do, however, have some pictures of some of it. You can't see the back (It stops at the board), but the rest is just the controls, and there's PLENTY of room, and PLENTY of hot glue along with epoxy for the heavier forced parts.

This is the parts, without the top. The top has about 1/2" of room, so this should be sufficient. It's all I got for ya!

In the second picture you can see the Li-Po cells, the yellow tape covers the tabs. Some things were changed (the "tabs" holding the guts in were removed, mainly due to size constraints). You can also see my soldering skills on the SNES IC.

So I still have my christmas avatar from 2005 up so that should tell you how long it has been since I have commented.

How did you make a new audio amp? I have Hip Gear screen but killed the audio amp and have not worked on my SNESp ever since (I do not have spare money). But that is the only thing keeping me from finishing.

I cheated :P i bought a pre-assembled kit from the local electronics store. I rearranged some parts and removed some unnecessary ones, and I got it to roughly 0.5" h x 1.5" w x 2" L.

Damn nice work on the case, I've looked at this thing a few times but never got around to responding. How do the controls feel?

Very smooth.

That isn't cheating!!!!!!!!!
very nice portable(sure beats my snesp, but you started a year before me... and ended a couple months after me...)

anyway, how did you get it to look like the case is one piece of plastic?(instead of a line in between the 2 pieces of plastic...)

Master of Portables: I did this with the two halves. Cut spaces for epoxy to go in to. Marine Epoxy, Sand, Sand fine, Bondo, sand finer, sand finest, Bondo, sand finest, paint, paint.

Joevennix: The controls are fine on the right side. The d-pad feels too clicky and all of the dpad directions except up press a different button too/first. But the right hand side feels very nice!

I plan on redoing this portable in the future. No time soon, though. Maybe a few months, when I have spare time, or at the very least when I beat Link to the Past.

So you are saying that this thing is bondo-ed shut?

Get an amp on a chip! 5W ones are around $3, and are tiny!

This 2W amplifier is too loud already. I couldn't imagine what a 5W would be like.

I saw those at Radioshack but I was unsure how to controll the volume on one. Is there one you would recommend, like from Mouser
