Project Trinity: Possible or Pipedream?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Project Trinity: Possible or Pipedream?

Post by Zero Cool » Fri Jun 08, 2007 11:54 pm

What is Project Trinity?

A 3-in-1 handheld that can play NES, Super NES and Genesis games.

How?

For those in the know there are two devices out there.

One is called the FC Twin, a piece of unlicensed hardware that can play NES (via an NOAC) and Super NES games.

The other is Radica's Play TV Legends Sega Genesis, which uses a Genesis-on-a-Chip to emulate 6 built-in games, but is capable of playing actual Genesis carts by modding.

It is my goal to take the two devices and create a handheld that can play NES, Super NES and Genesis games.

The screen would have to be a nice size (like a PSone screen).

It would use a generic pad with six face buttons and two shoulder buttons.

And a switch to switch between NES, Super NES and Genesis.

I know someone who's doing even more than that. One system more to be exact. :P

It's very possible.

And yet no dual system portables are in existence yet.

Agreed, It's very hard but theoretically possible. It would probably require a team of modders working together rather than a soloist.

Not really. It just would be really big and heavy, and cost more.

Hey that is me!

I'm the NES/SNES/N64 person, and yes I have it done electronically, but the physical case part is a be-otch

I should have it done by the summer, but who knows...parents ae working me like a slave :P

But yea the electronic part of this is very easy, just cramming it all in one case that can actually be played it the hard part...

And sky who is doing a quad?
