Nice stuff man! Now for splitting the controller and the beautiful wooden case! Are you gonna stain the wood?

You better use RGB in the end. I see that motion blur! (Unless that's from your camera!)

Looking good so far.

Kurt:
Looks like he has a mini SNES so RGB will be harder. You'd have to build a small circuit for each R, G, B signal. Composite doesn't have anything to do with motion blur.

Yeah I thought that as I posted. But I have a mini SNES and perfect RGB is as simple as finding the pinout for the RGB chip and connecting the 4 wires to the right pins on the PS1 screen.

oh don't worry. An RGB mod is in store for the SNES

CTF I am not splitting a controller but I am making one similar to the schematic in Ben's book. The wood won't be stained but a poly finish will be applied to it.

Sorry about the lack of updates. Other projects and work cut into my SNESp time :/

I did get RGB to work. Looks great. The whole thing draws 490mA which will give my portable 4+ hours on the 2200mAh battery I am using.

Wow man, lookin nice! I love the wood look if it's done right, and it looks like you've succeeded! Though, one question; on the front and back plates, where the two planks of wood meet, what will you use to enforce them?
