orig playstation Q about bateries

Post by Guest »

i have an ORIGINAL playstation, not the psone. that said, i have already got all of the things into the case, and figured out how to hook up the video, but how do i hook the battery up? i dont even know howmany volts come out. and then the batery needs to be enough to power the screen. i have a 9.6v lion rechargable, will this do?

I think the 8v ones called a 7808, not sure about the 3.5 volt one.. Also, www.digikey.com is a great place to find electronic components.

thanks for the place, but do i need two voltage regulators?
and also, will my screen be able to hook up to either the 7808 or the other one. why wouldnt a 7805 or 78035 work?

Yes you'll need two reg's. A 7805 outputs 5v, and a 7808 outputs 8 volts. Like I said youll ned to find a 3.5v reg, but Im not sure what they're called. To answer the screen question you need to post what screen you have

You want to have a built in chager, your going to need a charger some how fit in there. So go down to you local Radioshack and they have Ni-CD/Ni-MH battery chargers that will work with almost any brand under the sun. You your looking to find a way to set that up; either go to doomportables.org, under systems, under N64, and click on RPGnick he has a tourtorial about the N64 that touches on the subject of built in charger; the other optinion is to buy Ben's book, I'm sure he has one of his project set up to charge well plugged in they play well plugged in.
