My little brother overwrited my Golden Sun save on the way back from a trip from LA. I had nothing else to do for the next 10 hours.

A while back I was about 50% done with Crash Team Racing and my sister saved a new game on the same slot. After that I went and bought a cheap memory card and backed up my saves. :P

I had a huge Roller Coaster Tycoon park on the computer. Millions of dollars, all the land bought or leased, a go-kart track that weaved in and out of everything, creating a tour of the park... all earned legitimately with no cheats. It all went down the tubes when the hard drive randomly decided to die. :(

Our old SE/30 is LOADED with B+W Mac games and tech demos. Even the old "<a href="http://www.folklore.org/StoryView.py?pr ... ">bouncing pepsis</a>" window tech demo from 1983! Unfortunately I think the computer's logic board is crapped out. It just displays a random black and white stripe pattern on the screen. One of two things could have happened: 1. the 15+ year old PRAM battery leaked. OR 2. Capacitors died. I'll have to put the hard drive in an old Hard Disk 20SC and read it with the Quadra, and just pray like crazy that all the programs I grew up with are still readable. (they should be.) 80 megabytes of pure gaming goodness!

Something very annyoing was downloading a 1.2 GB demo, got to 1.0gb, then my net went off (bear in mind this was a Firefox download), not a huge loss, but a slight annoyance.

My PS1 memory card giving me a please format message everytime I play a game, damn for my saves on there.

No Mercy on N64 somewhat wiping my saves for no reason.

Getting a TV-in card then realizing that installing new components on the pc voids warranty.

Somebody please buy my Dreamcast >_> £20+shipping :)

My little sister deleted my save file for Warioland 2 for GBC iirc. It wasn't accidental, but she seemed to think I wouldn't be angry about it.

In Skies of Arcadia I was about to get the prototype battleship from the Valuan prince. Then my little sister saved over it. This time it was an accident, but I was sufficiently upset to consolidate ownership of the game and forbid her from playing it.

My sister does this kind of crap to me all of the time! She poured milk into some of my Gameboy games once. She deleted my Final Fantasy 7 save file right after i beat the Emerald and Ruby weapon. Thats just a few examples. She never got in trouble for it either
Meh, I don't post much.

I'm not kidding!

EDIT (After actually reading the thread)

MAN, I'm glad my sister doesn't play video games!
If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.

Assilant, try pausing the download when the intertubes get clogged. Helped me before.

I can't think of any happening to ME, but my friends, that's another story:

Dillon (My cousin): Hey! Look! I got a Nintendo DS!!
Kid: Wow! Cool! Hey, can I see it for a second?
Dillon: Here.
Kid: Oh, this is SO cool!
(Kid drops DS, breaking hinge.)
Kid: Aw! I am SO SORRY!!!

And my friend's gameboy was run over by his mom's car.

Portable Game Systems by Nintendo seem to be unlucky.
Refusing to change my avatar since like freakin 2007.

Just popping in the Windows CD & going to "repair" fixes problems like that.
