problem with sonic CD (win95 version)

Post by ganonbanned »

back in '01 or '02 I bought a pack of sonic games at toys r us. it was 3 disks, one had a PC version of sonic R on it, the other had sonic and knuckles, sonic
the hedgehog 3, and sonic 3 and knuckles. the 3rd one had a PC port of sonic CD. I never got sonic CD working. I mean NEVER. it says on it for use with windows 95. It didnt work when I first got it on ME, it doesnt work on XP, and it wont work on 98. the only time I remember playing it was at grandpas house on his 95. anyway I can get it to work? the error I always get is something about not finding DINO2D.DLL

If you can get a copy of 95 you can run it under emulation. (VMware, Bochs, perhaps DOSbox...)

easy.. i think... do this on your xp box. insert the disk, and go to

My Computer-->D drive-->setup.exe(or whatever the setup file is)-->right click the setup file-->compatibility tab--->check run this under compatiblity mode for: win98-->apply

then try running the the setup. if that doesnt work, download the file DOSbox. it will let you run it.(as long as it runs in DOS, which it should seeing as its a win9x game)
