Sorry guys, I'm pretty sure this topic is "dead" and all, seeing how the last post was from February. But I've noticed something when buying a FC Twin...

You see, here is the original posters picture:

And here is my Twin:

Kind of weird... There is a jewel on the back and the boxes are different...

Could there be any hardware differences with these two? Or, did Yobo decide to say who was behind the Twin, fearing Nintendo's wrath, and never getting scolded (or something about legality)?

It's not a "sticker", per-se, rather a "jewel" thing, like one you'd find on a original XBox controller.

That's weird. I wonder if I'm the only one and am getting some sort of crazy import thing going on. Not saying import with the conversion cart, more like... I dunno. Some Hong Kong knock off.

Even though I had to order another one since the first broke, both had jewels.

I'm still perplexed.

Now here's why you should try to pick this up immediately. As far as I know, The FC Twin console is illegal. We all know that the patent expired on the regular NES over a year ago and third party NESes have flooded the market. But the SNES patent still belongs to Nintendo. So once Nintendo catches wind of this, the Hammer Bros are going to decimate this company. Who's the company you ask? I haven't the foggiest. I thought it was Yobo (the style of the box looks like Yobos version of the NES) but there is nothing on the box or the system that indicates who made it. Further more, it doesn't even say where this was made in. Which I'm sure is another violation of some law right there.

I think yobo is producing both models but it trying to avoid a lawsuit with nintendo because as stated above they still own/have the patent for SNES

and according to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Twin_Video_Game_System
Yobo is the manufacturer and if you look at the reference the article also states that yobo makes the FC Twin.

SZF2001: I would just assume that you bought a newer model and Yobo got brave and stuck their name on it.

Hi guys, I'm new here, but am REALLY looking forward to making a portable SNES/NES. I want to get the FC Twin, but I do not know how to connect it... Is there a way to seperate the NOAC and the SNES part, without completely ruining the device? Sorry, I'm really new at this stuff, never done one before, but I want to get into it. It seems like a nice community and would be fun to build stuff like these.
Edit: Forgot to ask, is there a way to have JUST the SNES part, OR if I could just connect both of them to one screen with a switch or something?
It would be great with instructions or diagrams.

Thanks in advance!

WOW! fast reply. thanks for the info, all i actually want is the SNES part of it. so, do i just cut the cable? and leave it like that, with the end taped off or something? i wouldnt imagine it to be that simple, but some things are, and i hardly know about this stuff. thanks

wanna say thanks, but i've decided to get a mini-snes instead. sorry. thanks though. ive bought the PSOne screen and the mini-SNES on ebay. i have a soldering gun, solder, etc, anything else you think i need? besides a case that is.
btw that IS a very helpful page, i just didnt fully understand it, i was afraid to spend money on something i would probably destroy and never be able to use, the mini snes has all i need, plus there are more instructions for it.
