Subs or Dub?

Post by gamer2 » Sat Jan 13, 2007 2:44 pm

When watching a movie from a foreign country, which do you prefer?

-Subtitles
-English Dubbing

Frankly, when I'm watching a movie I like Subtitles a lot better because dubbing ruins the movie for me. I tend to laugh a lot at dubbing for some odd reason so it ruins the movie.

Well I don't watch many foreign, the least one I watched was Kung Fu Hustle. I actually didn't mind reading subtitles when we popped it in the DVD player, though my brother complained that we should switch to dub.

I watch anime more, generally I prefer subtitling. The voice actors are better and there's no change in the translation (or at least minimal). There are a few I watch more in english dub, Ghost in the Shell SAC is one such that I do. I've watched in subtitled and I enjoy it more in dub, I'm more accustom to the english voice actors.

I like dubs better 'cuz the subtiles are usually gone before I can finish reading them.

I really don't watch many (if any) foreign films... I guess it would depend on how well it was dubbed.

I don't like subtitles because I don't like having to read while watching a movie. Dubs are good for movies like Kung Pow.

subtitles FTW. especially in anime because 80% of dubs are absoolutly horrible quality and you lose a ton of stuf fin the localization process plus dubs are like 1000x as likely to be edited for content which subtracts even more! there are a few english dubs that are good but most are really really bad (naruto is one example)

I usually watch my foreign stuff subbed, but mainly because it's never been dubbed :P
Some dubs aren't bad, but most are horrendous

Completely right.

It's Uzamaki Naruto, not the other way around.

Believe it! x1000000
