Post
by Aquador » Fri Sep 29, 2006 7:49 pm
I wanted to build the halloween fear vacuum former, I have EVERY piece but the grill. I have searched every wall mart etc and they dont have the right grill. Can somebody help me find the right grill with the right sizes? Online stores are fine.

I can't really help about where to buy one but i can suggest changing the topic title to something a lot more specific. I know that vague "HELP" titles will get ignored.

get raw wire (i cant remember what its called) and just connect it to A/C power and its just like the wire in a toaster.

Well that sounds unsafe without some sort of regulating type device. And I think you're referring to nichrome wire.
Just keep searching for a decent grill, you'll find one eventually.

Or buy a toaster, hack it apart and fit it.

Nichrome wire thats the one. Although it seems odd that you can connect A/C curent to a bit of wire safely, but you can nichrom has an extremely high resistance making it an excellent load

I've noticed that! There aren't any understandable vac-form tutorials besides the halloween fear one, and it hardly helps!

thats because any size grill will really work as long as the heating element is big enough to warm up an entire sheet of plastic. i have a round grill over mine its the shape of the heatring element that really matters
