small voltmeter

Post by csurban » Mon Oct 02, 2006 4:40 pm

is there a way to build or buy a cheap small voltmeter? I would like one on my portable as a way to check the voltage on my battery so I dont burn out the PSOne Screen fuse. I just need it to tell me if the battery was too much voltage. (yes I know what a fuse does but it wont work in this situation... trust me)
nope... can't think of anything I could possibly want to put in my Signature Block...

You can get cheap multimeters for $5-$10, or buy a digital voltmeter for ~$10

They make meters called "panel meters" specifically for this purpose.

digikey part #LM3914N-1-ND is a 10-segment bar display that can be driven from an analog soruce. you need to make your own circuit though...
