They are only possible in the UK PS2's.

Couldn't you get the PS2 linux kit and then get a linux web browser (Opera?)?

I have a growing hatred for functions performed solely by desktop computers that are pushed off on other devices.

Why do you want to use your PS2 to browse the web anyway?

The only console that was built with Web Browsing in mind is Dreamcast

Wouldn't you be better off getting a computer then?

Yes, the Dreamcast could go online, but I don't think it could connect to broadband so you would be stuck with dial-up.

Actually it could, but you have to be willing to shell out $100 - $200 on eBay for the broadband adapter (and find the last version of the Sega planet web web browser, 3.0 I think it was).

I agree with bic, just get another computer, old ones are getting cheaper and cheaper (my 1998 iMac was $99, probably paid to much for it at that). Or you could build your own using cheap off brand parts if all you want it for is web browsing.

I remember seeing an article somewhere on how to get a broadband connection on your DC without shelling out the cost for the broadband modem. It uses your pc internet connection somehow. I'll try and find the link again.

I think that had to do with routing the DC through a PC modem, and then connecting the PC to broadband in some sort of freaky translation or ICS system.
Warranty-Voiding fun!
