Internet/AIM trouble

Post by lifeisbetterwithketchup » Wed Aug 23, 2006 2:52 pm

When I'm using AIM and use direct connection or try to send a file, my DSL modem goes nuts and cuts off my internet connection. Does anyone know what might be up and how I can fix this?

I have a solution! Step 1: Stop using AIM! :P

...But seriously though, I'd used to have similar modem trouble. It was caused by overheating. Make sure the modem is in an open cool place. (My modem was cramped inbetween my PC & desk when it was overheating)

I've seen some DSL modems that dislike using too many ports at once also.

The modem is in an open area, I'm fairly certain the problem isn't overheating. How could i fix the ports issue?
