PlayStation to GameCube converter

A while back I got this converter that allows you to connect your PlayStation controller to the GameCube. Unfortunately I got it in a non working state and as I opened it, I saw that the wires were hanging loosely inside.

There are four points to which all six wires were soldered to and I have no idea what goes where, so if anyone can help me out here. Controller pinouts aren't that much of help I think, because the signals go through the chip anyways. Here are some pictures:

It's a really simple design and I'm sure it would take only a few minutes to fix that thing, but without any information on which wires go to which point, I can't do much.

ok

look up the IC see where it power input is trace that pin back and the spot where the power goes will be the red wire

look for a ground, trace that back and thats the black wire

unfortunately im not sure about the data...

Is there anyone who has this kind of a converter? It's a pain to work out which wire goes where.

have you googled the model of the convertor? if youll find any info on it youll find it through google...

I did. No results. This is some piece of cheap chinese junk, so I wouldn't expect it to be documented. I was just hoping for some help from someone who possibly has one of these or knows how to check which wire goes where.

I think tracing a pinout is probably your only hope unfortuenately.

Maybe you can get an official gamecube controller wire. Then you know the color codes. Then look up the chips data on the internet. I think then you can figure it out. (or you can use a multimeter on the copper pin's of the connector and the wires and see wich wire is wich if you know the what copper pin is data, ground exc. (this is of course on the cable you already have) )

As I said you can also use the multimeter on the cord you already have you just need too know wich copper pin on it is ground data exc.

Well...I got this:

Pin Colour J1 Function
1 _Yellow _2 5V power supply (used by rumble motor).
2 _Red ___3 DATA line: bi-directional data to/from console, pull-up to 3.43V
3 _Green _ 4 Ground.
4 _White _ 5 Ground (Skillz interface has pins 3+4 wired as common ground).
5 - Unknown: not connected by official controller, or Skillz interface.
6 _Blue __ 1 3.43V logic supply.
7 _Black__ 6 Cable shielding / ground. Usually common ground with pin 3.

So 3 of the pins are ground pins. I'm assuming the 6 wires you speak of are from the gamcube end.

One wire is 5V, 1-3 are ground, 1 is the data line, and one (maybe) is the logic supply.
