"Nintendo has revealed to Famitsu.com, at the company's recent press conference unveiling its financial results, that Wii would arrive in Japanese stores with a maximum price tag of 25,000 yen. After taking in account various factors, the conversion to other currencies comes down to a launch price of: 225 dollars, 225 euros, and 150 pounds."

That's over 2 months old, you know...

Plus, there still isn't anything official, this is all speculation. While that's usually fairly accurate, it's still not exact.

@Sword_gun: these kinds of things tend to be a bit more expensive in Europe, so it would make sense for USD and Euro prices to be the same, since the conversion is the way it is

If it came out at $200 I guess I'd buy one, since I'd spend about $50-60 for a gamecube anyways...

ignoring the fact that this is OLD NEWS, 7-11 is having a nice contest where you can win a wii. how much is this prize valued at, you ask? $299 american. Thus, Wii is obviously worth 299 in american dollars.
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

No, because it's a known fact that it's less than $250.

No, it isn't. Nintendo estimate > 7-11 estimate for obvious reasons.

You have to take into consideration that the 7-11 estimate probably also includes pre order price and probably some hype to make it look like a better prize.
