Lost Pixel

Post by Thornwillow » Sun Aug 13, 2006 1:07 am

I have a DS, and at the bottom right top corner of the screen there is a broken pixel or however you want to call it. Its a small white dot on the bottom screen. Im lucky most of the DS games use the top screen, but while i play bottom screen games it bugs me to death! Does anyone have any suggestions to help me so i can ignore this little white dot? IT DRIVES ME INSANE!!!

Thanks

Take a black Sharpie and color over it.

Actually, if it annoys you really bad, you could get one of those really fine tipped Sharpies and color over it. I don't think it would really affect the system that much. But then it would look weird for light games.

I don't know how to fix dead pixels.

Some people find that just pushing against the pixel fixes the problem at times.

did you import it? cause if you didnt you can just call nintendo, tell them about it and they will send you a new DS and a prepaid UPS sticker and once you get it all you have to do is ship your DS back to them

Yes, it is sensitive. You're not even supposed to touch it with your fingers. If you do that, just be careful.

It is a used DS, i dont really own any topscreen games, i mainly want to know if it would still bug me with a topscreen game like Need for Speed or Super Mario 64 DS. It is so hard playing Animal Crossing tho for the pixel!

I remember from another thread about the DS's dead pixels that some people pushed against the problematic pixel and it would work, just don't push too hard.

Or do what vb_master said, if it's still under warranty, just send in for a replacement.

I hear Nintendo is generally pretty good about replacing things that are out of warranty, even... then again, if it was used, you probably don't have a receipt. In this case, good luck with that.

If you are going to try to rub the lcd, just give it a gentle "massage".. maybe even use the pen to do it :)

Oh and when your massaging, make sure to use some of that hot wax massageing oil. Gotta give that DS some lovin'!

Um, yeah... in this case, it probably couldn't hurt to point out that he is kidding, just in case you were thinking he was serious for some reason :P

I've found that rubbing does help in some cases! (It worked on this laptop I'm using :P)

Do NOT push on a touch screen pixel!!!!!!!!

The touch membrane thing is over the actual screen, so you'd wreck your touch screen if you did that.

For that reason, pushing only worls for the top screen.
Somebody made a ROM that just flashes very rapidly to bring back stuck pixels.
