Wooden cases

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Wooden cases

Post by Jimmy »

I don't know if I'd use a case made out of wood, but I think that it would be pretty cool.

I think that I might make one out of wood because it's easier to work with than engraving plastic. Plus, it will give it a unique appearance.

What I was thinking is using a strong wood, like oak or something, and then using a router and then sanding down the rough edges. Then I would stain it to prevent any wood dust from getting onto the circuit boards (I don't know how much it would harm it, but I imagine it wouldn't be good at all).

Would there be anything wrong with it? If there was a spark, would it catch the stained wood on fire?

If I made it out of wood, I would probably make wooden buttons also.

There's been others, I've seen them before. I'm too lazy right now to look for them, but I know that one was a SNESp.

Someone made a portable 2600 out of wood. It was quite small, too. I can't remember who it was, but I think he's a regular.

Actually, it's foo'. The apostrophe takes the place of the "l".

Just a correction. The SNESp is not wood. It's a plastic drawer with a clipboard for the front. Not wood.
Hey, sup?
