My Superjoy III Came

Post by vb_master »

It came. Like the seller said, there is no sound. Can anyone explain how I can fix that (could it be bad solder joints?)?

yeah, considering the bad soldering quality all around, it just might be a bad solder point.

I looked inside, doesn't look that bad of soldering. Looked at audio connecter, but it looks pretty good. I can take pics later once I feel like taking it apart again (all those screws AHHHH!!!).

Edit: Can I use a NES -> Famicom Converter found in some NES carts (Gyromite) to make the Famicom slot into a NES slot? Like take off the Famicom game, unsolder the connector, and solder a regular NES connector on the other end (from a GameGenie). I assume that would work, right?

Ok, I opened it up and I looked at the little amp with the wires going to the traces were the Audio connecter is, and I resoldered the wire going from the amp to the ribben wire, nope. How can I get audio directly from the NOAC board, and hook it up to the RCA jack? Can someone make a diagram for me please?

Mine does that as well, I think. It seems that the audio is getting power (it makes a click when I put in the cord), but there is no audio getting to it. I also tried hooking up the Genesis adapter, just video.

Also something I noticed, when it starts, it says "FUN TIME", and that rolls, and when it displays "FUN TIME" (as soon as I turn it on), some random gibberish green charachters appear on the left side of the screen, and they dissappear when you go into the menu. Could this be a sign of anything?

while it could be the sign of the devil, I highly doubt it. :)

I think it would be best if I just took out the NOAC part, and designed a new case around that. I noticed on the NOAC board, the are like 4 or something solder points in a row with a box around them with P1 above the box, is this a joystick hook-up?

Can someone tell me what I have to do to set it up outside the Superjoy? Do I need to set up that little square amp (?) between the controller from the Superjoy and the NOAC?

Edit: I extracted the NOAC board, now what?

Ok, I've been attempting to hook up the Audio and Video RCA connecters, and the power/ground.

Is the square pad pad 1 or 12?

I wired it up correctly last night. There is sound ( :) ). Now to use regular NES cartridges. Mine looks exactly like Ben's (with 3 glop-tops), and has built-in-games. Do I need to hook up pin 30 to pin 31 to let carts run? Thanks for everyone's help so far!
