Old Video game magazines FTW

Post by wallydawg » Sat Jun 03, 2006 6:31 pm

I just found two old video game magazines in my room. It's pretty cool to take a look back and see what was going on with certain systems and games, what was a huge success and what failed, and what games that never came out (for whatever reason).

One of the magazines I found was during E3 in 1995, so theres a bunch of stuff that never saw the light of day, like the Jaguar 2 and the Jaguar VR. There's some good artiles about like all 7 of the different looking 3DO systems, the early suprise Saturn launch, an Ultra 64 production log, and a Chrono Trigger preview (that I'll post pics of for CTfan).

Anyways, who else has some cool old magazines with some stories that they'd like to share?

I have an old tips and tricks magazine that I loved because it had an article about the up and coming Dinosaur Planet for the N64... oh how I wanted that game to come out so badly. Buuuut... it never came out, and got turned into some kind of star fox lameness, what a waste  .

I have some magazines from Nintendo Club, which was the Europian version of Nintendo Power but unfortanently no longer exists. They were from the time that the Snes was coming up and they feature games like A link to the past and Super Mario World. Ahh, those were the days...

My library had some old Gamepro magazines from the early 90's but they recycled them and that's why I don't like to read books.
